\”Many studies suggest that honey rapidly eradicates infection
with no adverse effects, reduces inflammation, swelling, pain,
and odor, and also stimulates the wound healing process.\” —p.189

\”…honey is
known to contain antioxidants that scavenge free radicals.\”—p.189

Initially I was interested in learning about honey because I put it into my coffee and/or tea, and I wanted to learn more about it in relation to its potential digestive benefits. But, when I looked into academic medical journal articles about honey, most research has been done on honeys\’ wound healing actions, as an immunomodulator.  This article has quite a bit of scientific jargon, but it was interesting to read about how honeys\’ constituents have an impact on our immune system through topical application.

Hope you enjoy this article, and be aware and eat with care 🙂
