\”PMS is a cyclical condition occurring 7–10 days before the onset of menstruation, and is relieved shortly after menstrual flow begins (Reid, 1991). The most commonly reported symptoms include depression, anxiety, irritability and mood swings, as well as physical symptoms such as breast tenderness and bloating.\” –Pg.363

So I am posting this article because, as from my blog post, I am a bit angry about some things and I\’m noticing this anger is occurring along with my cycle.  I don\’t want to feel frustrated, angry or irritable so I want to look into hormone regulating herbs or nutrients.  I was on a herbal pill for PMS before called Premular, which is Chaste tree extract.  This made a huge difference in my mood swings after taking it for 3 months, so if you live in Australia and have PMS, then I highly recommend it. Since moving back to Canada I have noticed my moods have been all over the place as I have run out of Premular, so I\’m thinking its time to find a Canadian alternative.  The article outlines nutritional and herbal remedies for the reduction of PMS symptoms and concludes, after assessment of systematic reviews, that calcium and B6 treatment seem to help symptoms.  I\’m going to look into products here in Canada and over the next couple months of use I will report my findings and opinions.  Thanks for reading, and be aware and eat with care 🙂
